Community Operations Coordinator/FOH Lead
The Loma Mar Outpost, a nonprofit community store and café, is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join us as a Community Operations Coordinator/Front of House Lead.
The Community Operations Coordinator provides essential administrative, logistical, and front-of-house leadership support to ensure the Outpost runs smoothly day-to-day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, community interaction, mentoring staff, and supporting mission-driven work in a dynamic, public-facing environment.
This position requires a commitment of 30+ hours per week and weekend/holiday availability. Applicants must be over 21 years of age.

Daily Operations & Administration
Assist with scheduling, record keeping, cash management, supply ordering, deliveries, etc.
Support inventory tracking and management using Square POS system
Maintain retail and café displays in alignment with Outpost standards
Open and close the store and café according to standard operating procedures
Help coordinate events, rentals, and community programs
Community
Maintain a friendly, welcoming, and community-centered environment
Provide guest services, visitor orientation, and community resource support
Support resiliency hub operations during outages or emergencies
Front of House & Facilities
Lead daily front-of-house operations, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards
Handle customer issues, questions, and requests in real time
Operate Square POS for sales, refunds, and to-go orders
Perform food and beverage service duties
Support café operations
Leadership & Program Support
Mentor, supervise, and train FOH staff
Implement weekly schedules, manage shift swaps, and ensure adequate coverage
Support programs by assisting with interns and coordinating FOH operations for workshops, community dinners, and special events
Qualifications
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, public-facing environment
Reliable, adaptable, and passionate about mission-driven community work
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to real-time operational needs
Experience in operations, community service, restaurant, or café roles preferred
Familiarity with POS systems (Square preferred), inventory tracking, and cash handling
Safe Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Server Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Valid California driver’s license
Age 21+
Compensation
$23-26/hour, depending on experience
