Front of House Lead

The Loma Mar Outpost, a nonprofit community store and café, is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join us as a Front of House Lead. 

As a Lead, you will support management by handling opening and closing procedures, overseeing daily task lists, and managing front of house staff during shifts. You’ll also serve as a positive role model and mentor for younger staff and interns, helping to create a collaborative, fun place to work.

This position requires a commitment of 30+ hours per week and weekend/holiday availability. Applicants must be over 21 years of age.

We’re looking for someone who is resourceful, detail-oriented, and most of all, a team player who is passionate about uplifting our community.

Lead Duties

  • Cash management, including handling the safe, petty cash, and register

  • Opening and/or closing the store

  • Opening and/or closing the register

  • Inventory management through Square, including adding, removing, and modifying items

  • Handling customer requests and issues in the absence of management

  • Mentoring and serving as a role model for younger staff and interns 

  • Oversight of daily and weekly staff duties

Front of House Duties

  • Operating Square POS including sales, refunds, and to go

  • Bussing tables, running food, and dish washing

  • Barista work, including working and maintaining the espresso machine

  • Pouring and service beer and wine

  • Fielding questions concerning the menu and available food items

  • Housekeeping duties, including general cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and trash removal

  • Maintaining a friendly and welcoming attitude while assisting guests
