FREE! Experience the 1880's at the Old Woodside Store, First Sunday in May.
Families will experience what life was like in the nineteenth century at the historic Woodside Store at King Mountain and Tripp Roads between noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, during the annual FREE event.
Held on the first Sunday in May, the Woodside Storekeepers invite visitors to experience life in the 1880s. This free family day will focus on the history of the Woodside Store and the redwood logging activities of the area.
Children will learn to saw with a two-man saw, wash clothes the old-fashioned way, split shingles with a mallet and froe, compete in a seed spitting contest, make dolls and much more.
Seed spitting contests will occur at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Music from the era will be provided.
The Woodside Store is located at 3300 Tripp Road (the corner of King’s Mountain Road and Tripp Road) in Woodside.
