A community hub in the heart of the South Coast
at the historic Loma Mar Store
All of us at the Outpost wish you and yours a happy, healthy, safe holiday season. We’ve scaled back our celebrations this month, but we’re still serving up lots of home town comfort, delicious treats, and cozy moments. Plus, we’re here in a pinch if you forgot any essentials for your holiday baking or something to bring to your celebration. Please note, we will be closing from December 23rd through January 14 as we prepare to fully embrace our nonprofit mission in 2026.
to the Outpost, a community resource hub in the heart of the San Mateo County South Coast.
We’re here to serve —great food, good times, and the needs of our dynamic community.
Our home is the historic Loma Mar Store, where you’ll always find the friendly staff, memorable music and delicious food you’ve come to expect, but now we’re also offering programs, projects and workshops that expand our outreach and better support those who live in and love our beautiful “gem in the redwoods” and the surrounding “slow coast.”
The Outpost aims to be a cornerstone for community empowerment, where everyone feels welcome and engaged in the collective effort to enhance the wellbeing of our rural region.
Community-driven and guided by a dedicated board and staff, the Outpost is sustained by mission-supporting sales, grants, and donations. This will ensure that we continue to provide a welcoming gathering space for all while promoting healthy food, emergency preparedness, educational and economic opportunities, and community connections.
Welcome!
